Udon-Ya San Restaurant Homemade Udon Noodle | Pandan Indah [Food review]

Monday, December 22, 2014

Udon-Ya San Homemade Noodle House is located at Pandan Indah and opposite Old Town White Coffee. I heard that their homemade udon offered is at very reasonable price too.
The noodle is made by the chef, Chef Anson Leong.

The menu offered was simple and easy to choose since pictures provided on it.

Tsukimi Udon RM7
Homemade udon by Chef Anson Leong, topped with seaweed (my favorite!), tempura flakes, chopped spring onion, poached egg and served with hot soup. The udon itself was very spongy, and best to serve with hot bonito soup. It was served with some chili paste to add spiciness in it. *recommended*

Mentaiko Udon RM14
Homemade udon served with generous amount of mentaiko, seaweed and sliced cucumber.
Each strand of udon was coated with mentaiko, seaweed and creamy sauce. The sound ‘pop’ can be heard once eat it.

The manager told us that they used high quality of mentaiko in it. *recommended*

Carbonara Udon RM9
The carbonara sauce itself was very flavorful, not too cheesy, and work perfectly with the homemade udon mixed with juicy and flavorful pork slices (pancetta).
A little combination of western and Japanese cuisine.

I love to eat carbonara spaghetti, and I definitely love this too!! *recommended*

Salad Udon RM8
What’s so unique about it? The udon + salad. It was my first time to try it. The udon was immersed into cold water before served.

It topped with slices of cucumber, white radish, tomato, seaweed, lettuce and served with Japanese roasted sesame dressing (one of my favorites sauces!). Then, mixed everything together and start to nom nom it.

Kakiage RM3
Deep fried onion with assorted vegetables. It tasted sweet (because of ONION) and best to eat when it was hot to maintain the crispiness in it. Surprisingly, it was just RM3, I thought it would cost more than that. And the most important thing is, it was not too oily!! *recommended*

Assorted Vegetables Tempura RM4
Deep fried assorted vegetables tempura served with dipping sauce and white radish. It will never taste better if didn’t dip it into the sauce.

Ajitama RM2
It was boiled to perfection with certain degrees (physics theory applied!). The running egg yolk can be seen once it was cut into half.

Tonkatsu RM6
Juicy meat coated with breadcrumb and served with BBQ sauce (upgraded version).  Another snack not to be missed.

Passion Fruit + Plum RM5
It tasted sweet and sour, best to serve when it was cold.

Lemon Grass + Lemon RM5

Thank you for having us here.
